Audiovisual Exhibition - 13 April 2024, Spaç of Mirdita
Ekspozita dallon në qasjen e saj qasje artistike ndërlidhëse. Të gjithë vizitorët do të angazhohen në një akt kulturor të heshtjes dhe kujtesës (niveli horizontal), në kombinim me ekspozitën dhe librarinë njerëzore. Aktiviteti do të zhvillohet rreth tre temave: kujtesës, përjetimit dhe reflektimit.
Brenda Trashëgimisë Kulturore, qoftë e bukur apo e dhimbshme ajo, gjenden të gjithë elementët e mendësisë dhe përçapjes së tanishme shoqërore. Trashëgimia është një ‘’laborator’’ i kujtesës kolektive ku përjetësohet historia, përpunohen nuancat kulturore, dhe ku mund të realizohet zbërthimi i gjurmëve të së kaluarës. Këtu, Arti i nxitur prej Trashëgimisë Kulturore është si një elementët alkimik i cili ndez mekanizmat e trajtimit (proces-formë) dhe përmirësimit të dijes për të kaluarën. Arti e Kultura hedhin dritë mbi realitetin historik duke nxitur hapjen e ‘’mundësive të shëndetshme’’ për zhvillimin e së ardhmes.
Ekspozita E Kaluara e Tashme është një akt kulturor që lindi nga një proces i nevojshëm që ne (pasardhësit e brezit që vuajti diktaturën) ndërmarrim në përballje me traumën e të pandërgjegjshmes kolektive; gjithashtu në përballje me frikën dhe mosbesimin. Kultura në kujtesën e saj nuk mbart vetëm bukurinë dhe mirësinë, ajo zhvillohet edhe përkrahë caqeve të errëta të vendimeve të shoqërisë dhe sistemeve politike. Ky aspekt i errët vendos gjurmët e tij mbi ecurinë e një shoqërie të tërë, gjurmë të cilat kur përpunohen nxjerrin në pah realitetin e kohës duke mundësuar vetëdijesimin e secilit individit që në vazhdim sjell ribashkimin e gjerë shoqëror. E kaluara e Tashme është rezultat i një procesi që zhvillohet në brendësi të katër aspekteve të përçapjes shoqërore sot: Ekzistenca e Trashëgimisë Kulturore, Gjurmët e së Shkuarës, Komunikim Ndërbreznor, dhe Art për thyerjen e fenomenit Kulti i Individit.
- 08:00-8:15 (15 min): nisja nga Sheshi Nënë Tereza
Tek Bunkeri ka planifikuar 5 minibus për të plotësuar transportin tiranë-Spaç-Tiranë.
- 10:45-11:00: Hapja e Ekspozitës
10 minuta mirëseardhje nga Tek Bunkeri, dhe më pas vizitorët do të drejtohen për te ekspozita dhe libraria njerëzore.
- 11:00-14:00: Vazhdimi i aktivitetit
- Vizitorët krijojnë linja pritjeje
- Kordinatorët do të orientojnë secilin për çdo veprim apo nevojë personale.
- Vizitorët njihen me ekspozitën dhe skulpturën.
- 13:00: Largimi i parë nga Spaçi drejt Tiranës
Minibuset e para do të jenë gati për kthim që në orën 13:00. Vizitorët janë të lirë të vendosin sipas dëshirës. Minibusi niset në moment që plotësohet numri i vendeve.
- 14:00-16:00: Mbyllja e kepsozitës
Tryezë me shërbime freskuese do të jetë gjithnjë e pranishme në aktivitet.
Ekspozita dhe libraria njerëzore do të zhvillohet në Spaç të Mirditës.
Shenja dhe tabela orientuese në lidhje me sigurinë e vizitorëve do të jenë të shpërndara kudo është e nevojshme. Një ekip i Kruqit të Kuq do të mbështes aktivitetin për çdo rast nevoje. Sipas vizitave tona dhe aktiviteteve të tjera të organizuara në Spaç, ne ju sigurojmë që gjithçka shkon mirë dhe pa rreziqe.
Në Spaç, ka mungesë të (WC), kështu që i këshillojmë të gjithë të kryejnë nevojat e tyre personale në një nga ndalesat gjatë rrugës, në Reps. Gjithësesi, Tek Bunkeri po mundohet të gjej një zgjidhje alternative edhe për këtë çështje.
E rëndësishme është që ky aktivitet të kthehet edhe si një ditë për edukimin e vetes ndaj mbrojtjes dhe respektimit të natyrës, respektin ndaj njëri tjetrit, kultivimin e durimit, mirëkuptimin e përbashkët, dhe ndaj njohjes me vendin dhe historinë. Do t’ju luteshim secilit që të trgojë kulturë bashkuese dhe dashamirësi për këdo dhe gjithçka e rrethon.
The event will be distinguished by an interactive artistic approach. All visitors will engage in a cultural act of silence and remembrance (partly performative), in combination with the exhibition and human library. The activity will evolve around three themes: remembering, experiencing, and reflecting.
Cultural Heritage serves as a ‘laboratory’ of collective memory where all elements of societal mentality and dissemination are found. Whether is it beautiful or painful, its history is condensed within past and present cultural nuances that can be processed to reveal all traces of a continues social development. Thus, Art inspired by Cultural Heritage works as an alchemical element that initiates a mechanisms of memory processing to enhance the knowledge of the past. Infusing Art and culture in social life can shed light on historical reality by encouraging the opening of 'healthy possibilities' for future development. The exhibition “E Kaluara e Tashme” (The Present Past) is the result of a process delving on four aspects of current societal dissemination: the Existence of Cultural Heritage, Traces of the Past, Intergenerational Communication, and Art to break the phenomenon of "Individual Cult".
This approach seeks to engage the audience in a collective moment of contemplation at Ground 0', focusing on the historical significance of Spaç. By bringing together people from diverse backgrounds, the event aims to celebrate art, cultural heritage, and common development, transforming Spaç into a temporary space for meditation for a couple of hours. Additionally, it presents a vision for Spaç as an ongoing museum of remembrance, reflection, and freedom.
Incorporating the voices of former political prisoners in the exhibition but also having them present during the day, the event will make visitors experience the human library, allowing them to gain insight into their past life as prisoners. We want to emphasize the importance of maintaining a respectful and inclusive approach that prioritizes reflective engagement over individual narratives on the hard lives that they lived. This sensitivity is crucial given the historical significance of Spaç and the personal experiences of former political prisoners.
The concept of how this final event will be organized is inspired by lessons and concerns raised by the former political prisoners during the implementation of the project, as explained below:
Life of former political prisoners in Spaç: They have very often spoken about their difficult life in the prison, specifically waiting lines inside the prison and how they had such a short-time to meet with their family and relatives when they were permitted to meet them regardless of the efforts and long trips that they had undertaken. Therefore, we want to create a scenario that gives a short experience of this kind to the visitors. So, the visitors will equally simulate the waiting lines to enter to the exhibition and meet with former prisoners. Considering the old age and physical conditions of most of the former prisoners, we are hopeful of at least 20 of them participating in the event.
Life in actual days of former political prisoners: From the majority of prisoners we heard about how they never received the proper attention or recognition of their sacrifices and their challenging lives, how sometimes they also still are not given the floor or the right attention to be heard and share their stories. That is why we thought that this exhibition was about them and that is why the human library will give them the opportunity to share their stories. For this reason, this event is thought to be organized in a different format where Tek Bunkeri only will briefly inform and guide the visitors but the full attention and space will be given to the former political prisoners and self-reflection.
Book of reflection: at the end of the event, all visitors, as per their will, will have the opportunity to reflect and share their experiences. This book will be turned into a document that reflects the current social inclusion and willingness, as well as it can remain in Spaç Prison for future visitors to be guided to the memorial work left in the place.
- 08:00-8:15 (15 min): Meeting point Sheshi Nënë Tereza
Tek Bunkeri has arranged a transport (round trip) to collect no more than 100 visitors from Sheshi Nënë Tereza in Tirana. At 08:15, visitors shall be directed towards Mirdita and Spaç. The trip to Spaç is about 101 km and will take nearly 2 hours and 20 minutes, including a stop in Reps for so people can have a short break for personal needs. Five event coordinators will be placed in each minibus.
- 10:45-11:00: Arrival in Spaç & Exhibition Opening
The first visitors are expected to arrive in Spaç prison 15 minutes before 11 o’clock. People will gather near the first building (which was used for visitors in the past) and Tek Bunkeri will talk about the project and open the event. This shall take no more than 10 minutes.
- 11:00-14:00: Event Happening
- Visitors will create a line waiting to enter the prison area.
- An event coordinator will direct them one by one to the exhibition and the human library.
- Two event coordinators will be placed at the entrance of exhibition and human library spaces.
- In total, three event coordinators will manage the flow of visitors at this phase of the opening and during the event.
- 13:00: Leaving the area (transport back to Tirana)
The first minibuses shall be ready to leave Spaç before 13:00. Depending to the flow of visitors, who want to leave earlier than 14:00 and once the seats are full, the minibus shall leave the place. An event coordinator will manage this part of the event.
- 14:00-16:00: End of the exhibition/event
It is important that this activity becomes as well a moment of education of respect and protection of nature, respect of each other present at the activity, a moment of patience and reflection, a day of togetherness and reconciliation, and a day to learn about the place and our history. We would be pleased to see everyone showing a caring and respectful personal behavior.
The exhibition will take place in the Spaç area of Mirdita Municipality. The exhibition will happen on the first floor of the building that is found on the right-hand side while entering the prison area. Human library will happen on the ground floor of the same building. Whereas, catering will be setup in the open space near the same building where the exhibition and human library are also happening.
Sings and safety stripes will be placed around the stairs and roof extension that direct visitors to the exhibition area. The building that is on the left-hand side of the prison entrance will not be accessible and closed with safety stripes. Also, event coordinators will be prepared and trained to ensure the safety of all visitors. They will be all around to support the safe flow of people that will be present during the entire event. We will manage to place sings where is needed so visitors are prepared about everything necessary regarding Health&Safety issues.
In regards to personal needs, during the trip and the event, we will inform all visitors about the area, buildings, car parking, and the absence of toilets in Spaç. We can fully mange all visitors that will come with Tek Bunkeri transport arrangement, while the rest shall be self-organised. However, we will give information in advance to everyone coming to the event.
I addition, we have arranged with the Red Cross Albania to support the event with first-aid staff members.

Ky është aktiviteti i fundit i projektit Kultura për Zhvillim të Qëndrueshëm: Potenciali i Pashfrytëzuar, i financuar nga BE-ja përmes EU4CULTURE dhe i zbatuar nga UNOPS në bashkëpunim me Ministrinë e Ekonomisë, Kulturës dhe Inovacionit. Qëllimi i kësaj ngjarje është të shfaqë punën e kryer me 49 ish të burgosur politikë të ish Burgut të Spaçit, të cilët janë ende në jetë, si dhe të krijojë mundësinë e diskutimeve të drejtpërdrejtë midis tyre dhe vizitoreve.
Përgjatë dy muajve, Tek Bunkeri udhëtoi në 8 qytete të Shqipërisë ku u takua me më shumë se 60 ish të burgosur politik nga të cilët arriti të krijoj 49 portrete dhe 49 regjistrime të historive personale të përjetuara në ish burgun politik të Spaçit në Mirditë. Qëllimi i ekspozitës është të treguarit e kësaj pjese të historisë shqiptare me anë të krijimit të një skulpturë monumentale e cila do të qëndrojë përgjithmonë në Spaç. Gjithashtu kjo skulpturë qëndron si një akt kulturor i cili u jep zë të gjithë të përndjekurve politik dhe zhvillimit tonë demokratik ende në integrim të vazhdueshëm shoqëror.
The Present Past
A cultural space for collective reflection

This is the final event of the Culture for Sustainable Development: The Untapped Potential project, funded by the EU through EU4CULTURE and implemented by UNOPS in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy Culture and Innovation. The purpose of this event is to showcase the work conducted with 49 former political prisoners of Spaç Prison, thankfully still alive testimonies, as well as to give the opportunity to the participants in the event to discuss with them directly in person.
For two months Tek Bunkeri approached more than 60 former political prisoners, spread in 8 cities of Albania, from which 49 sculpture portraits (masks) were created and 49 stories were recorded. The objective of the project, finalized in this event, was to create a monumental sculpture to be placed permanently in Spaç Prison in order for visitors to experience closely some vivid memories and understand the history directly from people that suffered in the prison. Also, the finalized work stands as a memorial for all political prisoners and gives voice to our democratic development as an integrated society.
